Financial Advisor's RIA Survey and Ranking is one of the longest-running independent surveys of the registered investment advisor profession. The 2026 results were published July 10 alongside the magazine's annual cover report on the state of the industry.

The same industry report noted a persistent critique from custodians that organic growth across the profession has been weak, with many firms carried by market returns rather than new client acquisition.
